Overview

Тhe Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW) was established in October 1962 and was incorporated under the Societies Act on December 1, 1962.

Under the authority of the Social Workers Act, the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers governs the profession of social work and serves and protects the public interest through regulation and promotion of the social work profession, and support to competent and ethical social work practice. SASW members are found across the province, working in many areas including health care, schools, community organizations, government departments, First Nations agencies, and in private practice.  SASW members are committed to helping individuals, families, groups and communities to enhance their individual and collective well-being.

Mission Statement

SASW is a member-based organization that governs the profession of social work and serves and protects the public interest through:

  • regulation of the social work profession
  • support to competent and ethical social work practice;
  • promotion of the profession; and,
  • support for transformative justice and well-being for all.

Vision Statement

To be recognized by the Saskatchewan public as an inclusive, trusted and credible regulator of the Social Work profession.
